GoPro handlebar mount

Posted on

I couldn’t let a 70 degree day in March in the Northeast pass me by so I got the old Sinister Ridge working and shot up to the Middlesex Fells to test out the GoPro handlebar mount.

The handlebars on the sinister are petty standard so fit wasn’t an issue. However, getting the mount tight enough to not spin itself out of position proved to be a huge chore. Within two minutes of getting on the trails I noticed the mount had come loose and was pointing the camera skyward. Unfortunately, the happened much of the time I was on the trails.

While fiddling with the mounts I think I have come to the conclusion that the mount needs something tacky underneath it to stop the spinning. My idea is to use an old piece of tube placed under the mount. Hopefully this gives the mount a little more contact with the bars and allows them to be tightened to the point it does move. I’ll keep you posted.

Thus far, I’d give the mount a 2 out of 5 stars.
